The Arrival -
We arrived at the San Francisco Airport at around eleven o’clock, and I was so excited to spend time in California with my cousins! The weather was gorgeous, the sun was shining brightly in the sky, and breathing in the fresh west-coast air was soothing. Definitely a great change from New Jersey!

The Purisima Creek Redwoods Preserve -
One of the first things we did in California was explore the Purisima Creek Redwoods Preserve by hiking on The Purisima Creek Trail. The strenuous hike, that is about a 4-mile round trip, provided enough views for a lifetime. At the preserve, one could also hike on The Redwood Trail which is shorter and more suitable for people of all fitness levels. This preserve is the perfect place for hikers, bikers, and equestrians!

The Bay Trail -
If you are in San Francisco, and want to take a scenic walk along the bay, The Bay Trail is for you! It consists of over 350 miles of walking, running, or biking pavement with spectacular views. We watched planes come in and out of SFO for several minutes, and enjoyed looking out at the many ships and boats in the water. Walking along snippets of this giant trail is
highly recommended and something you will not regret!

The College of San Mateo Farmers’ Market -
Found on West Hillsdale Boulevard, this farmers’ market is one that's held only on Saturdays. It is at the College Of San Mateo and has fantastic, fresh food and produce. There was a miraculous view overlooking San Mateo, and I loved every bit of this experience! If you ever stumble upon San Mateo, definitely check out this market for it's amazing quality and even better farmers! Be sure to try out my favorite: hot chocolate on a sunny day!

The Hiller Aviation Museum Run -
Signing up for the 5th Annual Hiller Aviation Museum Run that was held on an actual runway was one of the best decisions of this trip! They give you a choice of running or walking a 2k, 5k, or 10k, and the course is on a runway of San Carlos Airport. This run is always in the summer, and after working out, you can access the Hiller Aviation Museum and learn all about planes. This place was great for all ages!
