Exploring the Granite and Pine Tree States - Part 6

Cadillac Mountain

Driving up Cadillac Mountain is something you have to do if you find yourself in Acadia National Park! It is an extremely popular drive up to the top of the mountain and the overlook is a great place to watch the sunrise or sunset. When we went up, there was complete fog with about 200 feet of visibility! Nonetheless, the views were insanely cool. The fog made it seem like there was nothing ahead, and you could only imagine what a steep fall it might have been from the edge. It was quite windy, and the fog was misty which created a spooky, eerie vibe and provided fun photo opportunities! Right when we were about to leave, we saw the fog clearing up a bit and got very excited! I took many pictures and the views of Jordan Pond and Bar Harbor were crazy cool! Also, Cadillac Mountain is also known for stargazing and your trip to Acadia would truly be incomplete without a trip up the mountain!

Sunset at Thomas Bay

I have no words for the beauty of the sunset. Here is a picture of Thomas Bay for you to enjoy the sight I spent a long time admiring!

Bubbles Divide Trail

Want to see the bubble rock and not do the relatively difficult South Bubble Trail? The Bubbles Divide Trail is for you! It’s a 0.4-mile hike to the peak that takes you to the Bubble Rock and the South Bubble Trail Head. It is a perfect way to get to the rock without working so hard, and the views are for sure stunning as always! It was so much fun hiking up and admiring the views on a warm, clear summer day!

Natural Bridge & Bar Island

A crazy landscape at the Bar Harbor- Natural Bridge is a sight to see! It is a bridge made from the sea bed that can be seen and used during low tide! The bridge forms when the sea recedes, and it connects Bar Harbor Downtown and Bar Island. Waking to Bar Island is spectacular, but be sure not to spend too much time on the island or else the high tide will come back, and you’ll be stranded! On Bar Island, there are various trail routes, and the most popular is the Bar Trail (1-mile) to the summit which provides views of the Harbor and downtown. It is such a wonderful place, and the ideal way to spend some time in nature!

The Drive Back to New Jersey

Memories made, smiles shared, pictures captured…another experience is in the books! I had so much fun in Maine and New Hampshire, and I hope everyone reading this enjoyed my take on things to do. The drive back was like any other: a wave of reality gushed onto me. School was starting up, summer was ending, and we were headed back home. It felt almost bittersweet, but I was excited for what the future held. Until next time…
